Hey, this is part III of my fanfic. For those of you who have been
waiting for a lemon of Mewtwo and Misty, I apologize. I was originally
going to write two versions of this story, but trying to make a lemon
out of this story was way too hard, so I decided to make the whole
thing a fanfic, and write a lemon with a whole different plot and
timeline. You know what it is if you've read the futuristic story,
Pokémon: The Next Pikachu! And yes, this is a shameless plug for my
lemon. By the way, I don't actually list any of Mewtwo's powers, but
those of you who have played the game might recognize some of his
abilities. See if you can figure out what's what.

For the Love of Family
After three hours of high-speed flying, Mewtwo finally set down
somewhere in the Fuchsia mountains. He didn't stop, however, and kept
running through mountain passes until they finally arrived in a sort of
natural cul-de-sac. The mountain rose up on all sides except the way
they came in. If anyone was going to try to ambush him, he would know
exactly where they were coming from.
"Put me down!" Misty screamed for the thousandth time this hour.
Mewtwo decided he had had enough. "Fine!" He dropped her to the
ground, which resulted in a mild "Ouch!" from Misty. "Now, if you
don't mind, I'd like to get some rest."
"If I don't mind?!" she screamed. "You kidnap me, take me to wherever
this place is, and you want to catch a nap?!"
"Yes. You can rest if you want to, but don't try leaving. I can sense
your thoughts, and if you even think of escaping, I'll know. So I
would advise you to get some rest. It might be some time before they
find us, if they find us at all."
Misty decided that yelling wasn't going to get her anywhere, and tried
to calm down. "Why did you bring me here?"
"As a hostage. To prevent the human scientists from making any rash
decisions. I won't harm you unless you force me to."
"Why do they want to kill you?"
"Because I am a threat to them alive. And that is the last question I
will answer. I want to rest."
"Aren't you worried I might try to escape while you sleep?"
He frowned at her, then looked around for something. A few moments
later, he found it. He sent a powerful wave of psychic energy at a
rock formation atop the side of the canyon, sending dozens of rocks,
large and small, falling in the only opening in the canyon. After a
few minutes, the miniature avalanche stopped, and when the dust
cleared, Misty saw that the only entrance or exit out of the canyon was
gone, along with any hope of escape. The only thing that could open up
the canyon again was a few crates of dynamite, and unfortunately, that
was something she forgot to pack.
"Now can I please sleep?"
He didn't even wait for an answer, and sat down on a semi-flat rock,
dropped his head, and promptly went to sleep. Misty decided that the
only thing she could do right now was sleep, so she pulled out her
bedroll and tried to get some rest.
Elsewhere in the mountains,
"To Protect the world From devastation..."
"To Unite all People within our nation..."
"To Denounce the evils of truth and love..."
"To Extend our reach to the stars above..."
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Will you two knock it off?!"
"Be quiet, Meowth," Jessie said as she slammed the cat with a mallet.
"So where's this rare pokémon that's going to make us rich?" James
asked.
"It's somewhere in this mountain. They're offering a $50,000 reward
for whoever captures it."
"$50,000?! With that much money, we could buy our own country!"
"Or enough food for a country."
"Either way, I'm hungry!"
Jessie took a few more swings with the mallet. "Will you two stop
thinking about food?!"
Somewhere at the base of the mountain, Ash and Brock ran up the trail
with Gary and a few hundred trainers close behind.
"You know, this would be easier if Gary would let us ride in his car,"
Brock said.
"Yeah, but then we'd have to listen to him the whole way."
"Good point."
Ash looked down the long trail, and for an instant, he thought he saw
something moving near the horizon. As he got closer, he saw it was a
human. Then, for an instant, he saw something flash, then whoever or
whatever it was was gone.
"Brock, did you see that?"
"See what?"
"Nothing."
Back in the canyon, Mewtwo awoke to the sound of scraping and rocks
falling. He looked at the blockade and saw Misty trying to climb up
the rock face, with minimal success. She wasn't even close to the top,
which didn't make her a problem...yet. He decided to get her down
before she hurt herself. He focused his mind, pulling her off the
rocks and back down to the ground.
"I told you, you can't escape, so would you please relax? I'm sure the
good doctor will find out where we are in a few days."
"And then what? Are you just going to keep running every time they
find you? And what about me? Are you gonna keep taking me to places
in the middle of nowhere?"
"If I must. You are the only thing that is stopping them from killing
me outright."
"Why do they want to kill you, anyway?"
He looked at her with genuine surprise. "What do you care about me?"
"Well, I care if there's gonna be people shooting at me."
"Hmph. I suppose you're right. They want me dead because alive, I am
a threat to them."
"Are you that pokémon that destroyed the research lab on Cinnabar
island?"
Mewtwo suddenly got suspicious. "How did you hear about that?"
"I watched it on the news. They said you were dangerous."
"I am dangerous, or at least, in their eyes I am dangerous. All I want
is my freedom."
"Then why don't they let you go?"
"Because they have no idea what I am, and that makes them fear me."
He turned around and started walking toward the edge of the canyon.
"Are you hungry?"
His question puzzled Misty. "Yeah, I am. I haven't eaten since
breakfast."
"I'm going to get something to eat. I thought I should get something
for you as well."
"Thank you."
He hopped into the air and floated there for a second. "Please, don't
try to climb out of here. You might hurt yourself." Before she could
respond, he flew away.
At the end of Route 16, Gary was driving in his car, alone, except for
his fan club. He had left all the other pokémon trainers in the dust,
and he was proceeding to the Fuchsia mountains on his own. He had
taken the opportunity to capture a few new pokémon, when he looked up
and saw something totally new.
"Dexter, analyze."
"No information available."
"All right! A new species! This'll really fry Ash! Spearow,
go get 'em!" He stopped the car and sent the flying pokémon after
whatever was in the sky.
Up in the air, Mewtwo saw the Spearow and its trainer long before he
saw him. He waited till the Spearow was in range, then blasted it with
a wave of energy, then dropped to the ground.
On the ground, Gary watched in horror as both his Spearow and Mewtwo
came crashing toward him. Mewtwo landed first, with a veritable crash,
then his Spearow fell, right into Mewtwo's hand.
"You are beginning to annoy me." He tossed the motionless body of the
Spearow over to the car. It landed right in the middle of his fan
club, which had some unpleasant results.
Suddenly, everything stopped. Gary was about to throw another
pokéball, his fan club was about to scream themselves to death, and
Mewtwo was about to kill every single pokémon Gary threw at him. But
at the moment, nothing was happening. Everything was just frozen in
place, except for Mewtwo. And one human standing beside him. Mewtwo
turned his head and saw this human was almost as tall as him, with a
smile that scared him.
"So, how've you been?" the man asked.
"Who are you?"
"Let's just say I'm the guy talking right now."
Suddenly, he vanished, making an emphatic 'whooshing' sound, then he
reappeared behind Gary.
"Isn't he just the picture of arrogance?" Whoosh. By looking closely,
Mewtwo saw that he was, in fact, running. He was actually moving very
fast, much faster than human eyes could track. "By the way, I'm
counting on you to survive, at least until the end of the day."
"Why do you care if I survive?"
"Let's just say I have an interest in you living to the end of the day.
Oh, and by the way," Whoosh, "I hope you like it hot."
He disappeared, and time returned to normal, and Gary sent out his
pokémon. "Magmar, go!"
The pokéball popped open, and a two-foot tall pokémon appeared, covered
in fire and lava. "Magmar!" Its voice sounded like it was melting.
"Magmar, Firespin!"
Magmar spun around, creating a tornado of fire and lava, then it
surrounded Mewtwo, burning his flesh. He screamed in pain, then
focused his mind on creating a shield. Suddenly, a barrier of energy
flashed up around him, blocking the fire, but not the heat.
"Magmar, Mega Punch!
The fire pokémon brought a red fist back, then slammed it into the
barrier, almost shattering Mewtwo's control over it.
"Again!"
Magmar punched the shield again and again, each time almost breaking
it, but Mewtwo held strong. He needed food before he could fight, but
he didn't have any time to get away, unless...
"Magmar, Flamethrower!"
Magmar breathed a powerful stream of fire at the shield, but to his
surprise, it went right through. Unfortunately, he forgot to aim at
his opponent. Mewtwo ducked out of the way of the fire stream, then
used the energy from the barrier to create a bright flash of light,
blinding both Gary and Magmar. While they were trying to make their
eyes work again, Mewtwo ran across the field, leaped into the air and
flew away. By the time Gary was able to see, Mewtwo was too far away
to catch.
"Magmar, return!" As Gary tried to calm his fan club, Mewtwo landed
about a mile away. Too far to see from where Gary was, but close
enough so that he wouldn't have to exert himself too much flying back
to the canyon.
Back at the canyon, Misty was trying her hardest to escape, but the
avalanche blocked her in completely. She tried every pokémon she had,
even Psyduck, but none of them could move that much rock.
"Ash...where are you?"
"Somewhere down the mountain, I suppose."
She looked up, and saw Mewtwo arriving with a basket full of berries
in one hand and a rack of meat in the other.
"I assumed you would want fruit," he said as he handed the basket to
her.
"Where'd you get the basket?" she asked.
"I stole it."
"Stole it?"
"Yes, there was a man in the forest picking berries, and since I didn't
know which berries were safe to eat, I stole his basket."
"I don't think you should've done that."
"He had two other baskets. I doubt he'll miss this one. Please, eat."
Misty cautiously took the basket and ate a few berries, then her
hunger propelled her to quickly finish the basket. Mewtwo sat in an
opposite corner of the canyon and slowly chewed on the meat. Where he
got it, Misty didn't want to know.
"So...do you have a name?" Misty asked.
He looked at her for a moment, then decided she deserved an answer.
"My name is Mewtwo, or at least, that's what those scientists decided
to call me."
"Okay...well, do you have any family?"
"Yes...my mother, but she's beyond reach."
"Oh, she passed away?"
"No, although she wishes she had...died...The scientists have her
locked away somewhere in a research lab on Cinnabar island."
"What? That's terrible!"
"Hmph. If more people like you were on the project, perhaps they would
be more...kind."
"What project?"
"The project to create the perfect pokémon. One without any violent
tendencies, but one with enough power to be able to defend itself
against any opponent. They had many failed experiments before my
mother...they created horrible monsters, then put them down when they
saw what they really were. Finally, they created my mother...Mew..."
"Then what?"
"Then...three months later...I was born."
"Really? Who was your father?"
"My...father? I have no father."
"How can you be sure?"
"Because I cannot feel him. When I was born, the scientists separated
me from my mother and put me somewhere else inside the facility. I
immediately felt my mother's presense the instant we were separated,
but I felt nothing else. If I, indeed, had a father, then he must be
dead now."
"Well, that's pretty grim."
"That is the way of the world."
Just then, a cloud of smoke rolled over the canyon, and Misty heard a
familiar voice...
"To Protect the world from devastation..."
"To Unite all peoples within our nation..."
Mewtwo stood up and looked at the two. "You are annoying." He sent a
wave of psychic energy over to them, blowing them off the mountain and
into the air.
"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off agaaaain!"
"Hey, Misty!" The voice came from behind the rock barricade. Misty
looked at the barricade and saw Onix with his head on top of the
rocks and Ash and Brock climbing up the rock-snake pokémon's body.
"Ash!"
Ash quickly slid down the rock face, then came face-to-face with
Mewtwo.
"You are quickly becoming annoying," the giant pokémon snarled. He
grabbed Ash by the throat and easily lifted him in the air.
"No!" Misty shouted, "Put him down!"
Mewtwo glanced at her and saw the fear in her eyes, then slowly lowered
Ash to the ground. "Fine. Now, if you wish to pursue your meaningless
reward, feel free."
Ash was about to throw a pokéball, but Misty stopped him. "We aren't
going to be fighting anymore, right?" She looked at Ash with hope in
her eyes.
"Ohhh...all right." He put the pokéball away and sat down, pouting.
"Now..." Mewtwo said, "If you don't mind, I would like to locate those
scientists. If you found me, they will surely be close behind."
He closed his eyes, then reached out with his mind, searching the
mountain for their presense. Soon, he found it, very close to his
position, but far enough away for him to make a quick getaway.
"I'm afraid I must take my leave, now."
"Don't worry, we won't tell those men where to find you."
Mewtwo was very surprised to hear her say that, but he was also...glad.
He quickly ran across the canyon and flew away.
Ash watched as Mewtwo flew away, as well as his chance for a reward.
"Misty, do you know how much $50,000 would buy?"
"Ash Ketchum, if you had $50,000, I'd make you pay me back for my
bike! Don't think I've forgotten!"
At that moment, two men in white coats and a number of soldiers charged
into the canyon. One of the men grabbed Ash and demanded to know where
Mewtwo was.
"He's gone, and we don't know where he went, so stop bothering us!"
Misty said angrily.
One thousand feet above the research lab on Cinnabar island, Mewtwo
looked down at the dark building, and knew that, somewhere inside was
his mother, slowly dying.
"Mother...I *will* set you free..."
Suddenly, the birds in the air slowed their flight, then stopped moving
entirely. There was a bright flash of light, and the man from before
appeared with a sinister smile on his face.
"So, you want your mother? I can get her for you."
"Liar! You have no business with me, or with her!"
"That's where you're wrong. I have a great interest in reuniting you
with your mother. I have a proposition for you. Agree, and I'll
bring you to your mother. Refuse, and you'll be on your own, and your
mother will probably die before you can save her. Your choice."
Mewtwo looked at him suspiciously. "What is your gain in this deal?"
"My gain is what will happen when you finally meet your mother for the
first time." That in itself made Mewtwo more suspicious than ever.
However, he didn't have any more time to think. Time began moving
again, slowly at first, but it began speeding up. "Decide. Now."
To Be Continued...

Yes, I know, you're all going to kill me for leaving you with such a
cliffhanger, but I'm still writing the continuation, and I'll be done
in a few days, maybe. Trust me, it'll be worth it.
